If you’re not a fan of PrettyLights or if you don’t know him (AKA Derek Vincent Smith) then you’re missing out on a huge chunk of EDM culture. He has produced some of the trippiest track in all of Glitch Hop music, you know the vocal part in ‘Avicii – Levels’, ya, Pretty Lights Inspired that.
He has a new teaser that has been flying around for the new album ‘A Color Map of the Sun.’ It shows him creating his own sample of his classic blues/jazz/soul sound. Check out the video below and look out for the new album In June!
IDestiny is a Texas favorite of mine. His dubstep and mashups is just pure fun to listen to! I found that GlitchHop.Net (apart of The EDM Network) used inspiring works to describe this remix:
“From the electro to the dubstep influences, everything about this track screams big-room from the top of its lungs. This is one for the record books, with enough massive energy to go for years. This remix takes the fast energy of the original, slows it down to glitch speed, and totally funkifies everything. Go grab this download while you can, because this is a gem to remember.”
And, as usual, the track is free! So grab it below.
OK now this is awesome, look what Dim Mak is giving to it’s fans:
To all our avid Twitter followers, and frequents of the #FF shoutouts, we have adorned a whole new meaning towards this overused Friday chant-off… Presenting #FreeFriday. Starting on Friday the 13th, we will be giving away a different track, possibly unreleased, rare, old, new or wherever in between, on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. As bit-rate quality seems to be a common concern for anything ‘given away’, all downloads will be offered in 320kbps. This means you’ll be able to bring something new to the dancefloor each weekend in full mp3 luxury.
The second track of this series is Will Brennan – RNR (Enferno Remix) and I cannot wait to hear more!
Butch Clancy, so much can be said about this young Producer of EDM. It’s as if every genre he goes for turns gold. Trap, Dubstep, doesn’t matter, Butch Clancy knows how to make an inventive, original twist on the genre; ‘Far Away ft. Amy K.’ is no different. Melodic, futuristic and eclectic are a few words that come to mind when this track his your ears. Get it below.
I wonder if Knife Party is still accepting BitCoins as payment for their new EP now that the BitCoin market crashed! Knife Party was originally apart of the Australian group Pendelum (if you don’t know, you really need to look them up) Two members broke off a few years back, formed Knife Party, and here we are.
Knife Party is being more known for their activism in the internet freedom movement, supporting groups like Annonymous, AnonFM, and concepts like bitcoins. They’re taking the risk of being different, which always has it’s pro & cons.
Anyway! Their new Haunted House EP contains four tracks, two of which have been floating around the internet for some time and two that are drastically different from typical Knife Party. Check it out Below:
Krewella does it again! Their Troll Mix series is notoriously known for being one of the heaviest EDM mixes out there today. Their 4th installment is no different. The trio mix some old, new, and remixes, just everything! If you love upbeat dubstep this is a mix that you simply cannot miss. My personal favorite is the ‘Make the Girlies Wet (Breeze & Modulate remix).’ The mix is free so get it below!
The power of twitter is unfathomable. There was one single tweet that let to the explosion of posts about ‘Jack U.’
That single tweet has led to an explosion of questions on the web. Everyone has been excited for the Mad Decent Block Party line-up announcement, but now the EDM world is puzzled by the less than descriptive tweet. It is rumored that the super duo will be performing at the MDBP’s. More info on that as it comes out.
By the way. You should go to the Block Party! Instead of only being based in Philly the block party is hitting up over a dozen cities from Calgary to San Diego. This is one tour that you don’t want to miss.
We were given the single last week, now hear the full EP! There’s one thing that stands out to me about Feature Cuts, his sound. His new EP entitled ‘Vision’ shows his unique ability to use generally the same grindy, heavy effect on all of his songs, but make it sounds great every time. The EP is a mixture of Electro-House and Dubstep but all tracks are worth listening to. Unfortunately it’s not free so enjoy the stream
Case & Point jumped on the ol’ SoundCloud stream to bring us a insane remix of Out Of My Mind, completly transforming the track. There’s alot I can say here, but Dubstep.net does it better:
“Home of Bingo Players and many others, Hysteria Records recently released Bingo Player’s hit single “Out Of My Mind”, along with remixes by many artists such as Case & Point, Dada Life, and others. Transforming the original house anthem into a gargantuan dubstep smasher, Case & Point harness the rich, atmospheric rises and powerful melodies to construct a sure-fire dance-floor banger to bring tremendous honor to the Hysteria name. A rare dubstep release from an otherwise house and electro-house dominated label, Case & Point’s “Out Of My Mind” Remix is a veritable ‘diamond in the rough’ that we are extremely glad to have stumbled upon!”
First off, if you’ve never heard the original. You’re a damn fool. This track is one of the best dubstep tracks of 2012. Antiserum & Mayhem take it to the next level trapifying it. There’s really no need for explanation. Listen to it and you’ll see why the play count is skyrocketing. It’s heavy, hard, fun and an all around banger. Don’t miss this!
