It’s been a while since I’ve posted good Drum & Bass and boy do I have a sick one today! AndyC seriously turn MatZo & PorterRobinson’s new track into a clever DnB banger! Even though I’ve been blabbering about free music today, unfortunately this is beatport only, listen below.
If there’s one thing Moiez is talented at. It’s progressive house. The Vancouver-based musician has remixed some of the greats, such as Steve Angello, Hardwell, and Armin Van Buuren. His remix of ‘This Is What It Feels Like” buzzed across the blogosphere and luckily caught my eye. I was beyond engulfed in the sound the first time I heard it. The effects Moiez adds to his sounds not only matches the professional quality sound of the original, but goes beyond what most remixers would expect to achieve.
I had the chance to share a view words with the up-and-coming artists. Really nice guy, very open to sharing, caring, collaborating, spreading EDM love, an all around positive guy. PLUR life! haha. Check out the interview below. .
Chad: Thanks for doing this interview, sorry it took a while, but time doesn’t slow the inspiration your remix brings the world! What got you into EDM music and culture? Where did you’re Musical journey start?
Moiez: Hey Chad! Its good to meet you dude, thanks for reaching out and asking for an interview!
I got into EDM when I was in the 9th grade. I was introduced to artists such as Armin, Tiesto, Dash Berlin, and was hooked right away.
Moiez: I started messing around after being introduced to the software FL Studio. After getting the hang of producing, I started with Hip-hop, entered a contest, and won it when I was in a duo called TheSoundCrate. I was the only contestant who had won two tracks, and this really helped me gain some confidence in my productions. As soon as I was introduced to EDM, I started producing it and developing my own sound. As of last year, I started sending out my music to a blog I am a big fan of called FreshNewTracks, they loved my music, and since then I have been working on under the name Moiez.
I just turned 21 on May 10th.
Chad: That’s super cool. Seems like a positive rise in success since you’ve started. I know that blog, their music taste are great too. So what’s the next step for Moiez?
Hardwell ft. Amba Shepherd – Apollo (Moiez Remix) | Download
Moiez: Thanks! I couldn’t have done all this without the support of blogs such as Brainless Beats, and many more who I try my best to mention and thank each and every day.
The next step is to get out there and play some reputable shows. I really love DJing, its one of aspect of creating EDM that I can’t say is the same with each and every genre of music. I have my debut in Chicago at SAMF, a few gigs on the side while I’m there, and on June 1st, I am opening for Project 46. I will also be working on a ton of music this summer, I always like having multiple releases ready to go! For the long term, i really would like to establish myself as a successful producer and be able to play alongside some of my idols. I really just want my music to reach the globe and to expand my fan base.
Chad: What future plans did the success of the Armin remix bring you?
Moiez: The success of the Armin remix has really helped me understand the power of social media even more. I think creating melodic remixes and then bouncing back to the more hard-hitting club tracks has also helped train myself and improve my skills as a producer too.
Chad: Hell ya! Love it man, who are you idols and what are to current favorite songs/artists?
Moiez: I really look up to Armin, Alesso, Avicii, SHM, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso in particular, Hardwell, Dyro, Tiesto, Dash Berlin, I have many favourites.
My favourite song right now would be Leprechauns and Unicorns, or Never Say Goodbye, oh and Beautiful Life by Armin.
Chad: What type of software do you use?
Moiez: I use Fl studio for producing, and I Traktor for DJing
Chad: What artist or organization have reached out to you in support?
Moiez: Many Indie artists such as myself. MilkNCookies who have a strong grasp of the local scene in Chicago, The2Friends, and a few Indie Labels. Some major artist support include 3lau who I am in contact with and in the process of launching a song with, and I have been in touch with artists who I have made bootlegs and remixes for such as Electric Joy Ride, Krewella who have supported my remix of Apollo and had previously asked to remix their hit song Alive (a remix wasn’t released due to time constraints). But those are a few I can recall.
Also have been in touch with Promotional companies in cities like Seattle, Chicago, Miami, and New York, working on a few gigs and lining up some shows

Chad: So I think that about wraps it up, any final words you wanna say to your fans?
Moiez: To all my fans, each and every day I remember the true reasons for why I make music and why I choose to produce Electronic Dance Music. That is because of there is so much love, support and gratitude that I get to experience for every new song, remix and/or mix that I release. Thank you for all of your support and feedback. I enjoy making music so much and its even more enjoyable when I have fans who take the time to tell me how they feel about the music I make and those who keep showing support and spreading the word.
. Also, thank you Chad on behalf of Brainless Beats for this interview! I will be working my ass off this summer so keep a lookout on the facebook page, I hope to release a lot of new music.
Hardwell hands it to you every time he drops a track. Last week was Hardwell’s remix of Krewella’s ‘Alive‘ and today he drops ‘NeverSayGoodbye’; a track that will fundamentally change your standard of “good sound” or “good effects.” The silk smooth yet hard hitting melody backed by sick vocals makes this track worth the purchase.
IDestiny is a Texas favorite of mine. His dubstep and mashups is just pure fun to listen to! I found that GlitchHop.Net (apart of The EDM Network) used inspiring works to describe this remix:
“From the electro to the dubstep influences, everything about this track screams big-room from the top of its lungs. This is one for the record books, with enough massive energy to go for years. This remix takes the fast energy of the original, slows it down to glitch speed, and totally funkifies everything. Go grab this download while you can, because this is a gem to remember.”
And, as usual, the track is free! So grab it below.
Spinnin’ Records has come out with their very own Podcast. Their mission statement: ‘keeping you up-to-date on everything going on in the club scene.’ This week’s DJ set comes from Sander Van Doorn. I’m not a fan of listening to 1-hour+ mixes, but this is the first Podcast, had to post it! I Sander Van Doorn is guest mixing, so you know its good.
dBerrie, the New York based EDM producer has dropped something big on EDM culture. A fairly new band ‘Imagine Dragons’ has a very unique soft rock, downtempo sound, not to be expected to mix well with electro house. dBerrie contradicted this with his ASTOUNDING remix of the hit ‘Radioactive.’ Get it for free below!
Pete Tong, The BBC Radio 1 DJ Host and of Essential Sessions, had Hardwell featured on his show and you’ll never guess what the featured..Krewella’s amped about it. But we all want to when is the official release!
This song, is like nothing you’ve heard before. Hardwell is a perfect example of artist taking Electro House…fuck that, taking EDM in a brand new direction. Let me digress, ‘Krewella – Alive (Hardwell Remix)’ never comes down. The track has a build up and a drop, but , even at the peak of the power, another build up, like you’ve never felt, hits your ears. This is something that is easier heard than spoken, CHECK IT OUT BELOW !
Cash Cash has a special place in my heart because both our interest started with Pop Punk/Hardcore and then shifted to EDM at the turn of the decade. They impacted me more with delightful funk-pop “Overtime” and next with their remix of Krewella’s ‘Alive’.
Their new single features an old time favorite vocalist of mine ‘Collin McLoughlin’ and is a remix of the up-and-coming house duo ‘Vicetone’ While keeping their notorious colorful Electro House sound, you get with a sense of maturity and depth that ‘Heartbeat’ (Cash Cash Remix) ‘ carries. All around the track is killer, May 17th is marked on the calendar.
DJ HellFire has some serious talent when it comes to creating sick bootlegs of your favorite songs. I was using DJ HellFire’s ‘I Need Your Love’ Bootleg in my set the other day and the crowd went wild. If you’ve heard any of HellFire’s hard-hitting reworks, let me reassure you that, Rage Island carries the same magnitude.
I had the chance to see Lazy Rich @ Buku Music + Art Festival in New Orleans, but missed it! Can you believe me? So sad. Lazy Rich’s remix with Hirshee is a perfect example of why I should have my ass kicked for missed such a talented guy! Their remix of Kyro & Bomber‘s ‘Beacon‘ really strike a sentimental chord for EDM fans. The full version comes out on April 22nd so look out of for it!
